Donating to the Hungarian House of New York

Dear Visitors!

If Hungarian cultural and community life in New York City is important to you, your donation could help us maintain the Hungarian House!

Currently, the Hungarian House is one of the most significant Hungarian community and cultural centers in New York City. Since 1964, the work of hundreds of generous supporters and volunteers ensured that thousands of visitors could learn about Hungarian culture within the walls of the Hungarian House. For the past five decades, the House has been a community establishment where generations of Hungarian Americans could experience and maintain their Hungarian identity.

The operation and maintenance of the House hinges on joint communal efforts and donations. Few are aware that the average maintenance costs of a building like this are around $50-60,000 a year, which have to be covered by entrance and rental fees, as well as donations.

Your financial support, your interest in our cultural events, and your volunteer help are therefore essential to making our cultural center lively and our community strong.

We want to upgrade the physical condition of the House, and to organize high quality and diverse cultural and community programs.

If you wish to support the Hungarian House, you can do so online via the Donate button, or by mailing a check payable to AFHLE (American Foundation for Hungarian Literature and Education, Ltd.) to our address:
