Good Friday: Traditional Easter Egg Decoration, Wax-Resist Dyeing Techniques

The Hungarian House of New York organizes a traditional Easter egg decorating workshop on Good Friday. Dyeing and decorating eggs have a long history in the Hungarian tradition. Techniques and motifs show the same regional variety as Hungarian embroideries do.

The wax-resist egg dyeing technique will be presented and thought according to the local tradition in Gyimes.

Children’s workshop from 5:30 PM
Adult’s workshop from 6:30 PM

Admission fee: $15/person (tools and cost of materials are included)
Cost of materials is included, tools will be provided, however, please bring hard boild eggs.
