About the event
A Hungarian Language Program:
Experience the magical atmosphere that made Karády one of the greatest iconic performers of the 20th century, as her most beloved songs — including "Hamvadó cigarettavég" ("Smoldering Cigarette End"), "Mindig az a perc" ("Always That Moment"), and "Gyűlölöm a vadvirágos rétet" ("I Hate the Wildflower Meadow") — are brought to life once again with piano accompaniment.
Throughout the evening, not only will the artist’s beautiful songs be performed, but through photographs and film excerpts, we will also gain insight into the exciting and often tragic life of Katalin Karády. We will learn how she became the greatest star of the interwar period, how she bravely stood up for the persecuted during the Holocaust, and the personal sacrifices she made to remain true to herself.
