Az eseményről

Join us for a commemorative performance by four guest actors of the Hungarian National Theater honoring the Hungarian Revolution and Freedom Fight of 1956.

This literary program centers on the moral choices and acts of courage made by Hungarian actors during the revolution. From Imre Sinkovits and Iván Darvas to Éva Szörényi and other members of the National Theatre ensemble, many prominent figures of the Hungarian stage took part in the resistance against the communist regime.

After the Soviet army crushed the revolution, each faced a crossroads — to remain in Hungary under repression or to flee abroad, many finding refuge in the United States. Their stories, marked by sacrifice, exile, and resilience, reflect the diverse fates of Hungarian artists in 1956 — different decisions, different destinies, one shared legacy.

Actors: Ádám Schnell, Andrea Söptei, Auguszta Tóth, László Tóth

Program complied by: György Lukácsy

The event will be conducted in Hungarian only.
